EXPERIENCE: Beginner – This class is ideal for those brand new to sewing or looking to build confidence with a simple dressmaking project. No previous garment sewing experience required. If you're unsure whether this class is right for you, please email us before booking.

Join us for a warm, welcoming, and beginner-friendly sewing day with Imperfectly Perfect by Fauve & Asmaa at Lark Design Cardiff. Whether you're starting from scratch or refreshing the basics, this class will guide you through your very first handmade garment in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Using one of the much-loved Tilly and the Buttons beginner patterns, you’ll have the option to sew a top or a dress—you choose the style that suits you best!

What you need to bring:

• Your chosen fabric, thread, and basic notions
• Fabric requirements will be sent upon booking via email.

What you’ll learn:

• How to read and cut a commercial sewing pattern
• How to set up and use a sewing machine with confidence
• Step-by-step garment construction and sewing techniques
• Finishing techniques for neat hems, neckline facings, and seams
• How to complete a wearable handmade dress or top

This is a calm and supportive workshop designed to help you fall in love with sewing your own clothes!

• Payment & booking: Full payment due on booking. Tickets are non-refundable, but may be transferred to another date/class with at least 7 days' notice.
• Fabric Kits: Kits are prepared to order and cannot be exchanged once selected.
• Minimum age: 16+
• Arrival: Please arrive promptly to get the most from your class.
• Equipment: All machines, tools, and pressing equipment are provided, but feel free to bring your own machine if you prefer.
• Accessibility: The venue is accessible and has a car park.
• Privacy & allergies: Please inform us in advance of any allergies or accessibility needs.
• Liability: We are not responsible for loss or damage to personal belongings or for injuries incurred during the workshop. Use of machines is at your own risk.
