Beginner Dressmaking Workshop: The Stevie Dress by Tilly and the Buttons

If you’ve been dreaming of making your own clothes but don’t know where to start — this is your moment. Spend a full, relaxed Saturday with us learning how to make the Stevie Dress, a wonderfully simple and stylish pattern by Tilly and the Buttons.

The Stevie is loved for its clean lines, loose shape, and oh-so-versatile design — with options for a tie-back or button loop fastening, dress or top length, and cute cuff or turn-up sleeves. We’ll guide you through each step, from cutting your fabric to finishing seams beautifully, helping you gain confidence at the machine and fall in love with sewing.

You’ll spend the day surrounded by supportive fellow makers, gentle encouragement, and plenty of tea and chatter. Expect laughs, fabric envy, and that quiet joy of creating something truly your own.

• Ticket Only – £75 (bring your own fabric and notions)
• Ticket + Fabric Box – £100 (a curated box of fabric, notions, and extras available on the day — choose your fabric from our beautiful selection!)

• Fabric and matching thread (if booking ticket-only)
• Enthusiasm and curiosity!

Spaces are limited to keep the experience personal and hands-on — so don’t wait too long to grab your spot. Come and spend a day sewing, laughing, and making something perfectly imperfect and completely you.

📜 TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Booking & Payment
   • Your booking is confirmed once payment has been received.
   • Cancellations more than 14 days before the workshop: refund available (minus processing fees).
   • Cancellations within 14 days: non-refundable unless we can fill your place.
   • We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule due to instructor illness, venue issues, or low numbers — full refund or transfer will be offered.
2. Times & Venue
   • The workshop will be held at Lark Design, Cardiff.
   • Please arrive by 9:15 am for a prompt start. Workshop ends around 4:30 pm.
3. Materials & Equipment
   • Participants must bring their own sewing machines and basic sewing kit.
   • Fabric and thread are not included unless you have selected the Fabric Box option (£100).
   • The Fabric Box will be available for collection at the start of the workshop and includes enough fabric, matching thread, and notions for your Stevie Dress.
4. Health, Safety & Conduct
   • Please follow the instructor’s safety guidance when using sewing equipment.
   • Be kind, supportive, and considerate to everyone in the room.
   • Disruptive or unsafe behaviour may result in removal from the workshop without refund.
5. Photography & Promotion
   • We may take photos for social media or future promotion. Please let us know if you prefer not to be photographed.
6. Liability
   • Attendance is at your own risk. We cannot accept responsibility for injury, loss, or damage to personal belongings.
7. Intellectual Property
   • The Stevie Dress pattern remains the property of Tilly and the Buttons. Workshop materials are for personal educational use only.
8. Force Majeure
   • If unforeseen events (e.g. severe weather, illness, or transport disruption) prevent the workshop from going ahead, we’ll offer either a refund or transfer to a new date.
