EXPERIENCE: Intermediate - this class is not suitable for beginner sewing. You must be comfortable with your machine and used dress making techniques previously. If you are unsure, please email us prior to booking.

Join us for an inspiring full-day workshop led by Sewing Bee favourites Tony, Fauve & Asmaa! Guided by Emporia’s  Roan Trouser pattern, you’ll learn to create a a pair of trousers from start to finish.

What’s included:

  • Expert tuition from three Sewing Bee pros
  • Use of on-site overlockers, irons, pressing station, and essential tools
  • Access to our haberdashery stock of fabric and notions for purchase

What you need to bring:

  • Sewing machine (with appropriate attachment feet)
  • Emporia Roan Trouser pattern
  • Fabric and interfacing (see pattern for yardage & requirements)
  • Basic notions: thread, pins, scissors, chalk/marker, measuring tape, hand-sewing needles

What you’ll learn:

Following Emporia’s instructions, you’ll cover:

  • Preparation: Understanding grainlines, interfacing
  • Seams & finishing: Sewing side seams with an overlocker for professional finish
  • Waistband & closures: Attaching a structured waistband and inserting zips
  • Topstitching & pressing: Techniques for crisp edges and neat hems
  • Pockets: Drafting and fitting of side and back pockets
  • Fit adjustments: Making alterations for personal comfort and style

This workshop is ideal for intermediate sewists who are ready to take trouser-making to the next level!
